well im definately not selling the car! i think im gonna go with the 7 bolt rebuilt, just to make everything easy. i just hope this motor lasts. i mean i dont have an extreme setup or anything i ill just hafta put my faith in the ol grocery getter!...but by all means keep giving suggestions, i think im gonna go with karking unless any1 has objections or recommendations

welp, after talking with my buddy, we've decided to get the 7 bolt from karking. so within a couple of weeks ill b putting in another 7 bolt. i hope that this is the right decision, so all u dsm gods pray for the car to work properly LOL.

Not to intrude or sound rude, but you dont seem very confident in this new 7 bolt you're buying. These are expensive toys!! LOL! If you dont feel confident about something, chances are, there's something not COMPLETELY right. Make the decision that will give u confidence. Take your time and triple check and THREADLOCK everything. You should be fine that way. I dont know about you, but I dont like expensive mistakes :(

the onyl reason why im hesitant is because i'm not familiar with engines. i hear good things about karking but i just hope this engine will last. my buddy seems to think everything will b fine and that the engine will be strong with my new setup. i just hate when the major parts of the engine are damaged, especially when i'm inexperienced, but im not doin the 6 bolt, and im not building the bottom end, so i dont have ne other options.

I just found out 2 weeks ago my crank is walking. Enjoy your new 7 bolt, +1 for the 6 bolt.

I heard karking sucks ass. Crappy half ass rebuilds. And if you get a 7 bolt, chance of crankwalk.

Used 6 bolt! IE Salvage Yard. Simply replace timing belt, balance belt, waterpump, tensioner and all associated pulleys in the timing side of things.
6 bolt
6 bolt

The age has little to do with it, either way you would be buying a rebuilt engine, and if it's a 7 bolt, it's probably an older one anyway.

The 6 bolt is stronger, which is why it will last YOU longer.

Don't get screwed! You know anyone with a KarKing motor?

A clean used engine is better then a half-ass rebuilt engine. These engines are strong, but if someone rebuilds it half ass, it will fall apart. Quickly.

I recomend a clean used 6 bolt.

Oh yeah: if you would have had a 6 bolt, you would not have shot a rod! Remember, they have stronger rods.

Damn, what a useless post...

yea i heard some bad things to about them. i decided to hold off. i kindly like overbore with the 3 yr warranty. and i also like buschur racing's stage 1 block and head. i think those are my two options? any opinions

Something to consider for you would be a 1g 7bolt. They rarely crankwalk (if you're concerned about that), and bolt in with almost no modifications besides a cut on your timing belt cover and grinding 1/8th inch so the crank sensor bolts in.

i had heard of this being done, but i'm kinda confused on the differences of the engines. i thought it was a diff install because you had to do more then what u stated. isn't the sensor on the outside of the valve cover on that particular engine? ne installs or sites for information?
