I have a 93 awd eclipse I just put a 6 bolt into it, The clutch slave is new, and the clutch is bleed. The tranny has no grinds, it just is really hard to get into 1st, third and reverse.. I have to force it into gear, Also, when I hit the clutch while driving, rpms go up to 2300k, say if im driving in 5th gear at 2k I hit the clutch and the rpms go to 2300k and it makes it dificult to downshift. Also, when I put it in to nuetral while driving the rmps will stay at 2300k from 5-10 seconds then it will just make a bleh sound and die back to 1k where it should be when The clutch is depressed.. Any guesses?

EDIT: The shifting issue is fixed.. now I have a frankenstien Accelerating problem at 15mph. anywhere above 15mph I depress the clutch and it holds steady at 2300k when it dips below 15mph it feels like i hit sand and idles normally.. say im at 30mph and i go to downshift. it will rev up to 2300k every time i downshift untill i reach below 15mph and it makes me sound like i dont know how to drive standard. Its a really annyoing problem, It did not accelarate by sitelf when it was in the TSI, I'm using the ecu out of the tsi.

I'll try to explain better
-When I go from neutrel to first, it wont even grind unless I force it
- 1st, 3rd and reverse are hard to get in to
- 2nd 4th and 5th are moderately easy to get into.
-When I go from neurel to second to first, it's more likley to go in, still hard though.
-After cruising around in fifth for a while, it's extremely hard to get it into any gear
-Car is less likely to put up a fight if I jam it into gear fairly hard

Edit: I found the cable shift on the ends there is a rubber bushing that spins around, the one the right side wont spin and is siezed on the shifter arm, and the one on the left can be brought up and down on that shifter arm, I heard that these rubber bushings need to spin and need to be tight with pins in them, Could this be why
1st third and reverse are tought to get in to?

I still have that issue where the car holds at 2300k when I go to 2nd gear and up in to nuetral and it dies down to 1k after a good 5-8 seconds.

Sounds like the two issues could be unrelated.

For your tranny, you either need to adjust the clutch adjustment rod underneath the gas pedal Clutch Adjustment or shim the pivot ball underneath the clutch fork. Search that for more info. While you're at it, fix the shift cables at the tranny like you were talking about so that they don't wiggle around and perhaps even adjust the cables at the shifter itself... there is a procedure for this, search it.

Your other issue sounds like the car is not idling properly. When you're in neutral and sitting still does the car idle well? Is it only between shifts that the rpm's jump up like that? Sounds like the idle is really high and when you clutch in, the car is still revving high not allowing you to shift gears very well.

Worst case scenario, your clutch is not engaging/disengaging properly (seized TOB, need a shim under pivot) and that's why you can't get into any gear AND the reason that the motor is still rotating at 2300rpm when you shift - because the motor/tranny is still engaged.

Just like ^^^^ he said. I had the same problem in my Talon and I needed to adjust the clutch rod on the master cylinder. I was having problems getting into any gear, and it was hard to shift/down shift. Basicaly it sounds like you have the clutch engaging way to soon off the floor board, and your clutch is dragging? Try that out and let us know.. Good luck

Alright Haven't been on in a while, I got the shifting issue fixed.. loose bolt on the tranny ROFL

Ok.. For the running problem, it idles fine, around 800rmp steady. No hunting.. it just seems to accelerate by itself only if im going faster than 15mph:confused:

I know it sounds wired.. I figured it out driving it slowly.. when The car reaches 16-17mph the car lunges forward and if i hold in the clutch it stays at 2300k... when i let the car decelarate to 14-13mph the car feels like it hit something... car shifts beautifuly now, but this frankenstien like behavior has me clueless.. there is a speed sensor that points to the back side of the rotor to the rotor teeth to determine wheel speed? It is unhooked..well cut or something cant plug it back in... I was told by one machanic that it's for abs only and wouldn't be causeing my problem.. I think it is though, Do you guys think that is the problem??

Im going to the junkyard on monday so i dont have to pay 130$ for a new one...couldnt hurt to plug it in

ABS is brakes. How does that cause a tranny issue??? Sounds wierd, but my 1g had a similar problem that i let go. The car seemed to idle high until i got to a lower speed if the clutch was in for a few seconds though. I would be doing say 60-70, push the clutch in, and it would idle around 2-3k and then fall and idle surge. Never figured out why it did that. To be honest, i really didnt care either.

No no, I got the tranny issue fixed.. maybe i should post up a new topic..
