ok, i did a search and i'm guessing shift forks are the problem but i'm not sure?

so, i was driving home from up north (70 some miles, not that far), crusing in 5th the whole way, no problems until this point (shifted fine, etc)...i finally get to my exit and start to slow down, and when i go to downshift into 4th i can't even move the shifter to the left (i can get it out of 5th and into neutral), but it only goes into 5th and then straight back, but not left in neutral or any other gears. there is no play to even move it to where i can get it into gear. it doesn't grind or do anything like that when i try the shifter just won't move.

idea's or shift forks? i'm really confused, and i hope i don't have to remove the transmission again seeing as it was just out a week ago...

thanks,alex

Disconnect the cables from the tranny. See if you can move the tranny linkages. If you can move them then its probably the cables or the shift linkage at the shifter that's the problem. If they're stuck in position.... Time to call Shep!
