I have a b&m short shifter in my car...when in any gear 1-5 including reverse, my shifter moves left or right depending on what gear. I changed the whole shifter base changed the pivot spring and everything. I can't figure it out. And its notba oh it moves a little there's nothing to worry about.. it moves drastically. Any ideas?

Are you sure it's a real B&M? A bud of mine bought on ebay a short shifter thinking it was a B&M, It was not the same set-up and had a grip of play... How much would you say of play does it have?...

A lot. I had a knockoff b&m and compared the two, and I'm convinced it is a true b&m. The play is so bad that in reverse, the shifter moves to where 4th gear would be.

you might have lost the bushing in it, mine does the same thing and I am pretty sure thats what it is...

Check your shifter cables. My shifter started acting the same way, and soon after that they broke. When you put it in gear does it sometimes kick back to neutral?

I've got the same issues on the oem shifter. One of the bushings on mine fell apart. I would take off your boot, put it into gear (car off of course) and move the shifter side to side and watch what parts move and what doesn't. If your cables move with all the play then the bushings on the other end connecting to the transmission are bad. But in my case one of the bushings on the shifter is broke, not the ones that connect to the cables, but one of the other two.

Can anyone who has a b&m installed take a pic of the setup? And a detailed pic of where the pivot spring goes?

Where can I get new bushings for them? All my shifter bushings went bad, its crazy
