Shifter problem!!!

Okay so I get off of work, start the car and I knew imidietly something was wrong.
I tried to shift in reverse and it died. The shifter feels sunken in and there is alot of play. Its very hard to get into gears and when i do, it is really hard to describe.
While filming the problem I found a bolt next to the shift cable???
I think/hoping that this bolt came loose from the shift cable to hold it in place??
any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the bracket that bolts to the tranny that the shift cables clip onto. There should be two bolts that hold it on at the bottom of the bracket. From the pic, that looks like one of them, as they have those same washers. The same thing happened on my 95 and it wouldn't go into gear...you're lucky my bolt was completely gone.

That was the problem. Infact the upper bolt was missing a washer so the bracket went through the bolt and the lower bolt was loose and came out.
It really freaked me out when I tried to shift, first thing i said was "great now what"
So i found a washer for the bolt and tighten them down real good.
Now its way better than before, feels like I have a short shifter. Its real tight and I have complete control over shifts now, feels great.
