2G Shifter Linkage Problem

I finally got my car put back together last night after replacing the turbine housing. I went to drive it and after a few blocks found that my my shifter was acting very funny. It was as if the pivot point on the shifted was not connected. It was going places it shouldn't and not going places it should. I checked the base and everything seems to be connected fine. I can only seem to get it into first. Second (actually further than second) is neutral. I didn't touch anything with the shifter or the trans. Any ideas? This car is turning out to be a real headache.

Did u check the linkage at the trans?

Check under the shifter boot. Check that all the bolts are in place at the trans end of the cables. Make sure the cables aren't broke. Make sure all the engine and trans mounts are bolted-up.

Figured it out. I must have knocked one of the retaining clips off the trans mount so the cable slipped out of place. Unfortunately I couldn't find any place in town that sold those clips. So I went out and got some flat bar and made my own. Seems to be working well. Thanks
