LOVE the skateboard wheel! (I know I'm late) That one is going on there once I find some wheels I like.

As a side note has anyone tried the Mishimoto knobs? I found them here just curious if anyone had tried them.

wow gofer that's a stock radio! didn't know those still existed LOL.
Haha. It still works too, as well as my stock 10-disc CD changer. I'm not a sound system kind of guy so I've never been to amped (haha get it?) to get a new deck.

Clean! I rather keep the stock unit if it still works fine.

I picked up a leather 2g replica shift knob off ebay a couple years ago. Its identical to the stock 2g, but the guts of it is solid metal. Its heavy as hell and If i were to guess it came from China and has lots of lead in it LOL.
Makes the throw on my B&M as smooth and effortless as stock.

How do you make the threads? My hurst knob has a metal piece that goes inside that has threads on both sides. Is that what those are for?

Well my black one with the aluminum insert and my brothers are both just drilled and taped with the correct threads which is 10mm x 1.25 and for the solid Delrin ones I used a helacoil so that it would hold the treads better.
I found that with cold temps the Delrin shrinks and if you try to take your shift knob off or put it back on when it’s cold it will strip out the treads from having to use so much force to get it on or off.
But they work great I will never run anything else do to I can’t stand grabbing a hot as hell shift knob after a day of sitting in the sun.

I didn't read anywhere that this was limited to MTX knobs....

And since the 3/s ATX shift knob is identical to the DSM ATX shift knob, that means if you wanted to, you could use this same shifter.

The hardest part of this was figuring out the wiring for the O/D switch. The OEM knob switch is a 3-wire; this one is a 2-wire. As it turns out, the third wire is only to light the "O/D OFF" light on the dash, so i just taped the end off. Button turns the O/D on and off, just like the stocker. I also superglued the rubber base in place & used nail-polish remover on the "oh so tacky" red logo that it came with (something about "type-r").

p.s.

Before anyone asks, zoboomafoo goes EVERYWHERE with me. My wife has a matching one in her truck. :)

the evo x has the paddle shifters, AND a regular shifter, that is ALSO an ATX shifter.

so ATX shifter for the paddles, and regular shifter otherwise. evo x owners sometimes complain about the shifter being too low, so that one is raised up.
