2G Shift Cable Retainers, Difference

A while back I saw a thread asking about the MB367526 shift cable retaining clips, where to find them and why they're getting hard to find.

Someone in this thread stated that the brake line retaining clips could be used in place of the shift cable retaining clips and that they're the same parts.

Since I currently have not been able to find that thread, I am using this one to show you why that would not work. The left side of my image is the brake line retainer and right side of image is the shift cable retainer. I'd say they're definitely different parts numbers. And intended for different diameters, so you should not attempt to interchange them.

Hopefully someone finds this useful. Wish I could update in that specific thread.

It's nice that you have some in stock and shared that with us. I also have quite a few that I've collected. I was just stating that someone in this previous thread was having trouble locating them.
