Toronto,
There's a guy selling a stage 3 shep tranny on my local board.
Now, I haven't raced yet, and I'm at the moment more focused on having a stable daily driver. The transmission has been acting up and I'm just pondering that if I got this for a really good price, would it be fully streetable and worth it as a daily driver. I'm looking more for a rock solid car.

Here is the specs:
New 1-2 Fork
New 3-4 Fork
New Shep Trans Spec 2nd Gear
New 1-2 Hub/Sleeve kit with Double Synchro Rings
New 1-2-3-4- 5-R Synchro Springs
New 5th Gear Synchro Rings
New Input, Output, and both Drive Shaft Seals
New Input Shaft Bearings
New Intermediate Gear Bearings
New Roll Pins
New End Nuts
New Nylon Shifter Pad
Shims for setting preload
Upgraded Torrington Bearing
Bead Blasted Case
Heavy Duty 3-4 Conversion
Heavy Duty Shift Rails
Transmission filter upgrade
Upgraded Rare Earth Magnet
NEW INTERMEDIATE SHAFT

He's asking for $1500 CND -> $1,388.63 U.S. Willing to negotiate.

It will perform great, and yes it can be used for a daily driver and if you ever consider modding it, you will have a great transmission. What you need to know is why he is selling it. How many miles has he put on it. Did he get it rebuilt like that or buy it bran new. Why is he selling it for so cheap if he bought it new? keep in mind thats a 1900 dollar rebuild and alot more for a new one.

Everything in it is better than stock and built by the guy with the fastest eagle talon....how do you think itll perform?

But like I said, this needs to be a daily driver. I'm not sure if because it's made for abuse, it has to be driven like it's being abused (comparing to puck style clutches.)

It's mentioned that there's 3k KM's on it. I guess I could maybe ask for the bill hopefully showing what was done to it.

So at 1390.00 US this is a good deal? He's willing to go even lower.

thats weird... how low does he wanna get rid of it? are you sure its a good tranny???

That is the wrong way to think of things. I know because I did, and you can read my other post for the results.

But like JohnCIV_Talon said, you need to know why he is selling it, and for that cheap.

I guess I shouldve worded it differently.

IF it was new from shep, I would trust that it would perform to my expectations.

Buying used, definitely peck this guy for info on why he's selling and how it was treated....
if it was treated good than no doubt it will be a quality piece, DD or track car.

hey is the nylon shifter pad the little nylon piece that goes on the trans by the shift arms and fits in the groove on one of the arms??

if so...... where can i get a couple of these???
