Setup for my Talon

Well, I think I finally decided on what I want to go with on my Talon. If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.


Fresh rebuild. Although I havn't decided on a Forged build or Topline rebuild.
ACT 2600 and XACT Flywheel
EvoIII Big 16g with porting and 2g O2
Ported exht mani
660cc injectors
AFPR
Walbro 255
GM MAF-T
SAFC
ACT 2600 and XACT Flywheel
Supra SMIC
Dejon IC pipes
Crushed 1g BOV
3" Turbo back with NO cat
and MAYBE a set of cams.

I think i can get close to the 300hp mark on that setup and be pretty competitive at the Shootout this year. I'm planning on running the the Stock Appearing class, if all goes well between now and then.

Yeah a greddy type-s will do if you can still find one. They have a new Greddy type rs now.

I would like to steer you towards HKS cams. And don't get me wrong, I can not give you info on the FP cams, only what I have heard and seen picstures of and I will not discuss that on here.

Looks good!! Maybe go for an evo3 manifold from Forced Performance. It's a really good matchup. Id also get a Denso fuel pump instead of the walbro for noise reasons (I used to get pissed off at mine idleing at a red light). And if you can try and get DSMLink instead of the S-AFC. I went from the S-AFC to DSMLink and I'll never regret it.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with a Walbro 255. What I failed to add was a AFPR to your list. It would not hurt in your case.

I would go with link, but I think it's kind of useless with only 660's and a 16g. I probably wont go with link untill I decide to step up to the next level. I'm trying to keep it in the DSA Class for this years shootout since I'll be relatively new to the turbo racing scene, I race the NT all the time but its slower and also auto.

I could go a little more, but then i would have to step up to modified class, and I dont have the coin to be competitive in that class by August of this year.

Will the MAFT allow you to stay in that class?

Yes. That question was asked several times on Buschur's forums and the general decision was that it would be allowed. Argument being an every-day person would have no idea that part wasn't stock. Hard IC pipes are also allowed in that class.
