Settings for Greddy RS BOV

What's the best setting too put this on. From what I read, the bov should sound like a whoosh (a more softer setting). If it has a flutter like sound, does that mean it isn't fully releasing all of the air coming from my intake when I let off on the throttle (Compression Surge)?

If you set it "looser" when you let off the throttle it will "whoosh" then you will hear a whistle type sound, tighten the screw until it doesn't whistle after the whoosh

If you want your turbo to live, yes.

If you back the screw the whole way out and the valve still isn't opening correctly (as noted by the surging you're currently experiencing), you need to remove the cover and check to see what spring(s) are installed then adjust accordingly based on their rate of tension. One of the Greddy ricer valves came with two springs in it and was WAY too stiff; can't remember which particular model.

Justin, the type S is the one with 2 springs in wich user would remove the smaller of the springs. On almost every knockoff type s, you need to remove this spring or you will never get the valve to work properly. I had the type RS for yrs and found the best method to set would be as stated above. To make it easier, remove the reciurculated tube then free rev the car in neutral to make it blow off, listen for the high pitch whistle and tighten screw in small adjustments. Repeat until whistle is gone then put reciurculated tube back on. For best results, throw it away and install a Tial Q
