Heys guys i need some advice. I have a 91 laser with the non turbo 4g63. Im trying to do everything i can to set it up for the turbo but still run it NA untill i get all the stuff i need. So far i have a header, high flow cat,2.5" exhaust, underdrive pulley, short shifter, and i just got a new stage 3 clutch that is almost broken in(453 miles). What else can i do to this thing?

well you can do plenty of things but if you're going to go turbo its not worth the money. if you have your basic cai and exhaust you're good as for moremods? you can port your intake, port and polish your head bigger valves but i dont see a purpose if you're going to go turbo..

Why dont you think its worth modding? i have a spare head and intake manifold. The manifold is ported but i dont have the time to put it on ill post a pic of it.

because if youre going to swap the motor all the money you're spending now is going nowhere.

well im not too sure but idk the compression ratio on the non turbo but i wouldn't recomend boosting too high (no more than 10psi) if the compression ratio is above 9:1 especially since internals probably aren't forged

well i just want it quick and i love turbos so i am going to put a turbo on it. im just preparing the motor for it before i get everything.

if you want it quick, swap the motor to a 4g63t since its a 6bolt you can hit like 450whp on a stock motor!

Stock CR on a NT is 9:1 unless you drop 1g 7.8:1 CR or 2g 8.5:1 CR pistons you won't be able to push much boost before breaking them.

Do you daily drive the car?

I would suggest pulling the engine and at least dropping in some stock turbo pistons or some good forged internals.

Next thing you have to worry about is the stock NT ecu doesn't have a knock board in it. Therefore if you are knocking your ECU will not know and will not retard your timing. You could potentially blow your motor that way.

I would get into parts hoarding mode. Get everything. Pistons, Rods if going forged, Main & Rod Bearings, Manifold, Turbo, O2 housing, down pipe, Injectors, Injector Resistor Pack, Turbo Mas Or MAFT, turbo wiring harness and ECU, Fuel Pump. And there is so much more!!

Then when you are ready, take the car down for a couple days and install everything.

ok well the car is my daily driver. my friend told me that when we put the turbo system on that all you have to do is plug the turbo ecu in and wire the knock sensor in. and he has every thing that i need so all i have to do is give him the money someday then start early in the morning and be done at night but im not worried about that stuff now i just want to prepare the motor be for i do this stuff.

Hey I Have A 92 Eagle Talon Which Is Not A Tsi I Bought It For 2oo$:) But The Thing Is Dat It Already Has A 14b Turbo On It Nd Da Turbo Oil Pan,the Little Fitting On The Intake Manifold,nd Pretty Much Every Thing To Boost It From Wut I Can See Only Thing I Need Is A Fmic Nd A Bov..as From Wut I Can See But I Was Thinkin Bout Rippin It All Off Nd Puttin Bak To A Es Is Dat A Good Idea????or Should I Jus Finish The Turbo Project???oh And Da Guy Burnt Up The Ecu With Eprom In It So Do I Need A New Turbo Ecu To Run It ### I Do Have A Na Ecu As Well
