What do you guys use to separate u-joints? I need to replace my driveshaft yoke, and I'm a bit stuck cause the first tool I tried bent before it moved the caps any significant amount (it was my ghetto c-clamp turned valve spring compressor), and I can't find the specific tool for this anywhere... The two-jaw puller I have doesn't wanna get around the bulk of the u-joint.

Yes, I did remove the c-clips.

Oh nice. Didn't know they sold smaller presses like those. Would be nice to have one since I'm space limited.

Well i wasnt fortunate enough to have a press but when i did mine i just put a larger socket under the bottom of the joint and used a 17mm on top of the u-joint and hit it out with a hammer. I then did the same thing when installing the new ones just more carefull not to cause any damage to the new parts.

Ended up working fine with a c-clamp and sockets, just a little clumsy. Cut up another socket to let me turn the c-clamp with a ratchet. You need a 25mm or 1 inch socket for the caps to go through, since they're 25mm in diameter. I worked under the car cause it was quicker than removing the whole thing.

I later found this thing, it looks like it would work well: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=8077286056&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT
