ottawa,
i don;t know if this is the right place to post this but here goes...
does anyone here post on dsmtalk? that;s where i usually post but it;s down for repairs. well that's where i found out about dsm.org, they have a trader section so i placed an add for my car there and got about 4 replys in one day. i don;t know if anyone else here had an experience selling their car on that site. all the replys that i recieve are very similiar and seem to ask the same thing and use the same conditions like they want to see a pic of the car and know the condition it is in, they usually say that htey will pay with certify cashier check and that they will arrange for shipping. something about this sounds too good to be true so i just wanted to know if anyone else has had experience with this. here's and example of hte emails that i would recieve;

Thanks for your e-mail,So glad to hear that the said items are still for sale,i want you to know one thing that the Mode of payment is going to be Certified Cashier's Checks that will be drawn from an American.So there will be no problem in Cashing the Checks.Also i want you to know that you will be recieving a Cashier's Check of $4,500 that will sent to you one of my Client over there in the USA who is owing me thisamount. So all i want you to do now is to recieve the Check , After then i will expect you to Cash it Immdiately at the Cashing Store. After the Check has been cashed i want you to Transfer the remaining excess funds to my Personal Assistant who will now Pay the Shipping Company to come over for the Pick up of the car Gst (I will handle the Shipping so Shipping Should not any Problem)
Also after the Funds has been cashed and you have transfered to my Personal Assitant the excess funds,All you! need to do is to wait for the Shipping Company to come over for the Pick up, You will be notify on the Day they will arrive so that you will around for them toPick up the Item. Also funds should be Transfered to my Personal Assistant via Western Union. The Western Union and the Cashing Store Charges should be deducted from the excess funds you are sending my Personal Assistant.
I am Compesating you with the Sun of $50 for the little stress you will be going through in the transaction, his now make your total
income to be $250. So If this is Okay by you i want you to provide me with the Following Informations Which of course i will forward to my
Client so that Payment will be Issued :

sounds a little too good to be true if u ask me, i told the person to just give me a call before we do anything else...this sounds like a scam to me

yah i thought so, but i wonder how come u can't track them down. wouldn;t they have to send u info on where to send the money transfer? can't u track them from the account that they want the money transfer to?

They will usually have you send western union or something so they can't easilly be tracked. Plus they are in other countries which makes it difficult to take leagle actions.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever do a deal over the internet that deals with shipping goods or money out of the country. When people begin to understand this, there will be mucho less scamming. :shhh:

scam. i acualy got the checks and sent them and all my emails to the FBI.
they basicly said its not worth it to try to go after them. ( not enough money)

i had this happen to me a few months back but caught it before i sent any money.. this is that classic example of if it sounds too good to be true.. it probably is

Same thing happened to me. I got the check here, I tried to cash one, hoping I would get lucky and tell the guy it was fake, then keep 5g's for my ride.

Those scamming ######s make some bad reputation for international buyers.. yet I have never heard of scamming from South Korean dudes(well.. come to think about it.. most of us can't speak english for shit.. and probly have hard time setting things up like this :laugh: ) I seriously though.. I really hope and wish those scamming ######s burn in hell. God.. this makes me sooo pissed off.
