Ok so i was thinking about making a kill switch/security thing or whatever you guys want to call it.

I was thinking if i could cut the wire to the starter solenoid and connecting a wire to the solenoid side and that would lead to a switch and then to the battery and hide the switch somewhere in the car.

Then i would connect another wire to the wire that comes from the fuse box and gives power to the starter solenoid to a Start/Stop engine switch and just ground it. (To people who don't know that would cause a short to ground and make the fuse pop) And that switch will be placed in a visible spot on the dash.

So the idea is if someone wants to steal my car and is actually able to turn the key cylinder to the on position once they press the start/stop switch they would pretty much pop the starter relay.

And i would just be able to start the car with the hidden switch.

Also if someone tries to rob me if I'm in the car (which i doubt that will ever happen where i live) i can shut the car off and press the start/stop switch and it would pop the fuse so they wouldn't be able to take it.

So what do you guys think? It might sound a little confusing but that's the best i could word it.

And when someone simply uses a screwdriver on your very easy to access 420A starter and completely negates your kill switch?

Well once they pop the hood or break my window to get in that's when the alarm goes off that's also connected to hella supertone horns.
This is just like a secondary thing i guess.

Just install a master kill switch under the passenger side of the dash. Relatively cheap and close to the battery. Minimal wiring required and can get them from summit, jegs, or any online race store.

That would be a good idea but the stock alarm has the set up to if someone cuts wires or tries to take it the entire car goes dead

If I were going to do something like this I could the fuel pump and not the starter. Just put a switch in line with the fuel pump and when you cut the car off flip the switch so the fuel pump cant get power. That would allow you to diable the car when you get out or cut it off if its already running.

You are over thinking this

Agreed. What is your plan to stop them from stealing your car with a flat bed? I mean let's look at all the possibilities.

LOL yea if they really planning on stealing a car, they would flat bed it out. At that point it doesn't matter they are taking your car if you have an alarm system or not.

my security system is a hidden switch for the fuel pump that completes the relay circuit.

I don't get the point of the whole fuse popping part. Like someone else mentioned, if the switch is hidden, just use that as a master kill switch.

I usually do relays that kill power to the fuel pump and ignition systems, where i hide them and what methods i use to turn them on are things i dont' tell anyone but the owner of that car but i have some elaborate ways to make good security systems as well as pop out hidden compartments :)

mercury and magnets are your buddies in this game
