Search for the unidentified electrical socket - 420A

97 Eagle Talon NT 420a

Dinking around with my ever so much fun DSM I found an electrical socket that was not plugged in to anything and electrical taped to the radiator... WTF

I found the plugs for the radiator fan, coolant temp sensor and all that. They were plugged in where they should be, but I have one connection that is just hanging on the passenger's side of the radiator up against the front radiator mounts. Any ideas?

It's nothing lighting related. All the headlight, turn signal lights and such are fine. It's not a plug for the radiator fans... I have no ideas...

It is a square looking connector with four contacts on the inside and it looks like there is probably about 18" worth of wire coiled up in there...

I tell you the SOB that had this car did some crazy stuff to it...

some people say its for a dummy switch for the hood being open if you accident forget to close it all the way. ive only heard or this and from what your explaning it seems thats ## plug

just go to search at the top and type in (hood switch). its the bottom post. see if thats ## plug and let me know.

Anyone happen to know the wiring on this socket?

I am just asking so I can tap across the socket and MAKE SURE that is what I am looking at.... I am assuming that if that is the socket, some type of light should come on in the dash?

im assuming theres nothing plugged into it right. i would think you could complete the circuit somehow to see if the light pops on.

I would assume so too, but just about the time I do it, I will short out the ECU with my luck... FML
