I was talking with some people about turbos the other day and we got to talking about sealed setups. I can't remember who was making it, but it was completely sealed. The oil tank was built into the compressor housing. I was wondering if anyone ever messed with this on a TD05. Since it is liquid cooled I would assume it would be the best to try with. Not sure I would want to try it on any turbo that was only oil cooled. Anyway, they used specialized high speed oil. Without having oil pressure running though it, there wouldn't be much smoking as the turbo wears. Would need to come up with some maintenance intervals. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Good, bad, or ugly.

Similar. That one doesn't use any oil. The one I was looking at was still oiled, but it was self contained. The also used ceramic bearings. If I find the link again I'll post it.
