I have been using seafoam in heavy equipment engines for years and I have seen it make dramatic differences in performance and idle quality. I recently had a problem with low power from my 91 talon. It felt like the computer was removing timing. Normally what I do is find a secluded spot because you will smoke down your whole neighborhood. Start the engine and let it get up to opperating temp. I remove a vacum hose and put it in the can and rev the engine to about 2500 rpm and suck the can dry. Shut off the engine and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Then start it back up and run it down the road, and run it hard. This will remove a substantial amount of carbon build up from the combustion chambers. :thumb:

I got my oil changed after I put some in my crankcase but I still get a pop and a shitload of smoke shortly after heavy acceleration.

I'm interested in what trapspeed's problem is. I want to try this stuff but not until we find out what happen to his car.

Ever since I used this stuff I keep getting backfiring / white smoke that smells like the Seafoam burning. It's been a month and I've had my oil changed. It did however take care of my idle problem. I changed the sparkplugs, too.

Any power loss?

the only way to change your oil is to do it yourself.....unless your Defiant or bwhite, in which case you are too old to crawl under a car and have an excuse ;)
We can crawl under just fine, thank you so very much.

It's getting back up that can be dicey.

anyone use the spray? if so howd u use it?
The spray I believe is Seafoam Deepcreep.
I've used it before. Use it the same as the regular seafoam.
You can spray it into the vacuum hose and sparkplug holes. If you take the TB off, you can spray it all around the intake mani.

pain in the ass to get to that vacuum line from the bov since its 1g intake mani. i used the spray and im now putting in the liquid. let you know how it turns out :talon:

I'm about to use this Seafoam stuff to help find/test for exhaust leaks, while cleaning the engine.. I think I may have a leak, but not sure.. but everyone says you'll definitely see the smoke if you have a leak..

i was postin on yugotdonkeys name but i did like they all said to suck it in through mani vac line and let it sit. took off and made the biggest cloud of smoke i ever saw!!! :thumb: bad news was that i found a leak around the turbo housing >.< its gonna have to wait until i get money to fix. sh!t works great tho, id recomend seafoam to anyone

has anybody noticed an increase in oil consumption after using seafoam through the intake? It seems possible that carbon deposits could come free that used to take up some of the slop in an old engine- causing more oil consumption.

sorry to bring back an old thread but i just ran seafoam through my car, and it is STILL smoking and ive got a CEL...what could be wrong?

Maybe you shouldn't have run it?

well it says to let it sit for 15, then drive it for 15, i got all new oil, filter, plugs for it so i'm gonna replace those and see if it decides to love me again

sorry to bring back from the dead btu Im wondering how many peopel had sucess with seamfoam beign put in with their 120k+ engine? thanks./

i <3 seafoam. 120,000 miles? Why not, I'm sure it'd love a good seafoaming. Theres nothing wrong with seafoam. It is an awesome product and, like this post says, IT WORKS! I think i'm gonna pick up another can to throw into the gas tank soon. Gotta make sure those injectors are clean! :thumb:
