Ok, so I'm badly overrunning my stock 1G MAS right now. MAS signal goes nuts after about 5k yadda, yadda... So I bought a MAF-T v.2.02 and GM sensor from a local a little while back.

I hooked it up in drawthrough since my UICP for my FMIC isn't meant for it. Idled great, no issues there but everytime I would go above 25% throttle, the car would hesitate and miss really bad and my wideband would skyrocket lean. I checked the box and the red light was flashing 2 times, which from the manual means no MAF signal was detected, yet it was idling fine still. Unhooked, and rehooked, same problem. I asked Full Throttle Tech and they said to check my wires and/or get a new sensor. All of the wires looked fine. So I went to NAPA and did a core exchange for a brand new GM sensor. Tried it again, same problem...

All I want to do is be able to run a decent amount of boost without my AFRs going crazy up top because the damn MAS signal is going crazy. I'm about to go throw this MAF-T into a river and go with a 2G MAS. I just really don't want to have to upgrade again if I ever overrun the 2G MAS in the future.

HELP PLEASE? :(
 
Showing that you have DSMLINK installed. Once V3 gets released it will have speed density as an option. No more need for a MAF-T or MAS. So if expect to over run a 2G MAS within a year stick with the MAF-T.
 
all the settings are correct, like mafs size 3 or 3.5 inch , base fuel injectors size and all that? and to be honest im not totally sure about why its not getting a mafs especially if its a brand new sensor.

i ran the maft for almost 2 years never had any problem like that.

Same thing happened to mine, tried three different mafs, had no luck, I gave up on if for now. I was gonna send it back to full throttle for them to look at it but never got around to it. I think I'm just gonna sell it. Kinda pissed me off b/c it cost me a few hundred between everything and its just sitting in my room.:(

Agreed. I'm in a bit of money also and I don't like spending money on something that won't work.

I have all of the setting correct in the box. I have dipswitches 1 and 2 down (OFF) for 3" MAF, and 3 and 4 are down (OFF) also. To mimic 450s, I have the AUX dial at 0 and the BASE dial at 2. All of the other dials are 0. Green LED is constantly dim like it should be and bright when I hit the throttle. And the red LED will stay off, but when I hit 25%+ throttle, the red light will start flashing twice. I don't get it.

I have a PTE 50-trim as you can see from my modlist. So I don't necessarily think I'll be making much over 400hp, if at all. So a 2G MAS would work for me I think. But as I said, I don't want to upgrade again down the line...

sounds like just about every other seller on here. pass your junk on to someone else to deal with
 
Wait till Version 3 hits the market .. Speed density FTW!!!!!!!!!!! I've been so glad to get rid of MAF style sytems, they're great for light mods, but at a point they just become a paint ot deal with, especially when trying to work your way around having the OEM one.

I'm lost on these MAF-T's I don't even think they were around when i started tuning DSM's, i had looked at every option then just went full stand alone (mainly becuase i was haltech a dealer back then).
 
I must be missing something. Do you have a DSMchip to compensate for your injector size. Why are you setting the MAF-T for 450s if you actually have 680s?
 
Honestly, this thread should just die. I had a DSMChip made for my 680s and I wanted to use my MAF-T to just mimic the stock injectors. But I could never get the MAF-T working properly, so I said screw it. Since I don't have DSMLink yet, I had to improvise. To be honest, my DSMChip never really worked well for me anyway. I have a gut feeling my injectors are in fact 580s, not 680s, because I was having to add a ton of fuel with my chip to get decent AFRs. I've never gotten the injectors flowtested and bought them used.

I just decided that I would go with a 2G MAS instead and I also threw in my stock EPROM chip back in as well and honestly with just a 2G MAS and S-AFC for tuning, my car has NEVER ran better. I am running 24psi falling to 21psi on my PTE 50-trim on 92 pump gas with timing in the low-mid 20s with 0 knock. It idles perfectly. It cruises perfectly. And it absolutely hauls ass at WOT!

In my case: 2G MAS > MAF-T
 
They have been saying v3 is coming out for 2 years now. So when is the date set. Because until there is a date, its never coming out.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing exept keep the DSMchip. The MAF-t may be to tricky for me but mine is a blow through which seems to help spool up.
