Screeching and whining while driving

Well to start off I hit a huge gray squirrel on the way home yesterday from work. Right after that I started hearing a slight screeching noise when ever I turned the wheel to the right any amount only while driving sounded like it was coming from the passenger front area. It doesn’t do it when I turn to the left or when I am sitting still and turn the wheel. I checked the brakes on that side and every thing was up to par and free moving.

So today I went to go back out to work and when I put it in reverse it made a very loud whining sound way louder than it normally does in reverse. I then jacked up the car again to check it out. Now the wheel won’t spin at all, it feels like it is always in gear even if its not.

My questions is, what could those two noises be cause by/ what will it take to fix? (if its not obvious) Thanks for the help

You say it won't spin...what happens if you try to drive it?
The screeching sounds like your power steering belt.

On a serious more I would check the wheel bearings. Maybe that squirrel was the last thing it took to damage the bearing

I got my car from my brother, among other problems, i had the same moaning on reverse. the piston in the caliper was stuck out.. i took apart the thing, cleaned it out, and used a clamp to push the piston back down... havent had any problems with that since. With the screaching, I would think it almost has to be a belt.. check tensions?

sounds like either a wheel bearing or stuck caliper.

it wouldnt spin but the other front wheel was on the ground I dont know if that makes a difference. But I went for a drive and it was fine it just made the noises in reverse and turning right

I dont think it is a caliper because it does move a bit enough to see that its free but then it feels like the transmission is in gear even if its in neutral and or with the clutch in

alright i will give the caliper a check I dont mind taking them apart! and im not sure if its a belt because it sounds like it is coming from the opposite side but i shall check that to its more like nails on a chalk board schreech

I think you might be right about the wheel bearings. I just did a bit of reading and that sounds exactly like is happening, would that also cause the noise in reverse? or is that a completly new problem? Thanks every one for the help!
