Well, that was fun.

It seems the stock WG is set to ~18 PSI, can someone confirm this? I have a slight boost leak around the BOV, which I need to fix. I blew apart my leak checker at 10 PSI last night... I have to make a new one.

The car seems VERY well mannered. Even slow (not tuned for shit and I am being careful) at the moment. I also added a FMIC at the same time. A quick drive last night showed a warm inlet and a cool outlet.. VERY cool!

I am still running my 550's and a 190 FP at the moment. The FP will come in soon, but I want to play around with these injectors for a little bit.

Yeah, I know, but I went a tad over budget with this setup.. don't we all!

My palm batteries died the other day and I can't seem to find the software to reinstall. I started the process to get it but that takes time. I'll log the injector duty cyle when that gets going again. I feel blind without my logger!

It seems I have some adjustments to make. The innerfender doesn't fit with the airfilter sitting where the SMIC used to be. I have to move the pipe forward a little to get that back in.

The oulet elbow at the turbo sits on the engine cross member and the lower IC tank interferes with the bumper. Just a couple of little things, but it's a full day of tweaking this stuff.

It's actually a 2 core ATI. Top to bottom opposing inlets.. similar to the griffin.. but with a much better core.

I have the same turbo, put it on about a month ago. I love it. I am running it in conjunction with the new SBR cast manifold that I ported even more. You'll be satisfied, just get it tuned.

I was looking at the SBR site last night at that very turbo. How is it? Is it worth the money or should I go bigger? How bad was the install. Minus the wg....

hey man i was just wondering why you switched from the agp full garrett kit. if i had the money that would have been the setup i would go with. why did you decide to switch turbo setup?

I woke up an realized I didn't need the most expensive set up to achieve my goal in whp and 1/4 times. People run 11's on stock 2g manis, so i went with the new SBR since it was a cast mold of a ported EVO manifold and then I ported it even more. It flows plenty enough. I didn't like the sound of the external gate. It was too loud for my taste. I know it is the shiznit for boost creep, but it was too loud and I just didn't want to go through the hassle of having to get a o2 dump tube made to recirc into the exhaust. Plus, I like the way a stock manifold looks. You also have the benefit of heat shields, with the AGP you don't, and they get extremely hot, believe me, i have burns all over my arm from the wg.

Basically it was just my preference. I went overboard on my set up and paid too much for what I wanted to do. It boils down to your personal preference.

BTW: The SBRG50 turbo I got had a cut center section. I don't believe it ever said anything about that on their website, so you might want to call and see if they have them with uncut center sections.

Very cool to hear that people can still go for lack of a better word 'backwards' if you will. Not saying that is a down grade or anything, but I think most people go big, expensive, etc. and then feel they have no choice left but to stay where they are at, sell the car, or back to stock.

It is very nice to hear that you went from maxed to a little less than maxed on your setup. You are to be commended sir.

Best of luck.

*Updates*

650's are installed along with an upgraded fuel filter and line. With just a base correction using the formula, the car is a lot better. My timing jumped ~5 deg across the board.

My exhaust has gone stupid, it rattles now. I have also picked up a buzz that only happens when I blip the throttle at idle. The engine also sounds a little rough at the moment... I found oil covering the #1 and 4 spark plugs (all the plugs were not tight either) The car needs some TLC before I do anything else.

With the 550's and the AFC set to -18 I would get 12 deg from 3500 to 5000. Now I get more timing (~20) initially and then it drops down to ~15. From 5K up it bounces from 17 to 18 deg.

Strangely enough, a second gear run has much more timing (~20) at the higer RPMS.

SBR didn't really tell me where to pull the oil from. I did order it with the install kit though. It came with a SS line with the fittings to plumb it from the filter housing. Now that I think about it I believe there were some instructions with the oil line saying that you MUST run the line from the housing, not the head.

the SBR G-50, is just a PTE SCM50 but SBR likes to name others turbo's as theyre own. And feeding oil from the head voids warranty, and PTE feels the head doesnt push a sufficient amount of oil for the turbos needs.

BB turbos are totally different, they require less oil pressure, and too much will damage them, hence why you feed from the head.
