SBR 7bolt Question

I bought the car with a sbr 7bolt already in it. I wanna start saving up for a 6 bolt eventually but has anyone heard of the sbr motors having any issues with crank walk? I know its still a 7bolt but I was wondering if maybe sbr fixed the problem or at least helped it so I wont have to worry for a while?

Drive it till it's dead. Save up the money for a 6 bolt, and rod your 7 bolt until it's dead. Whats the point of swaping out a good motor for a good motor?

Agreed....the 6 bolt is nice but if it is running with the 7 bolt I would just drive it and save up to do the 6 bolt exactly as you want it.

I have to think they did some work to it to try to avoid the problem. plus if it any got walk now dont worry about it. walk isnt that common. everyone just worries about it to much.
like they said dirve it till its dead tune it and mod the crap out of this motor and see what happens. good luck

I e-mailed sbr but they arent too quick to reply. I'll update if they say any different

They just use the same block that every other eclipse has in it. So I don't think that you are really going to be at all that much less of a risk of crank walk just because they built it for you.

Pop off your oil pan and take a look inside. SBR usually recommends to their customers to block the oil squirters (a POSSIBLE help to the aversion of CW - i quickly tried to find a link for you, but couldn't. the theory is from Magnus, so search with their name and oil squirters. it explains everything) So, if the person you bought it from talked to them at all, he probably had it done. I did. Also, with the pan off, you can probably still see the weights of the pistons on the bottom of the dish. not a huge thing but kinda neat.
