Hey guys. I have been here a few weeks, but have not really posted until now. I have some questions, I thank one for help in advance.
Car: 1995 GST Stock T-25 Turbo (15psi)
Miles 144,XXX - Rebuilt recently with 178, 180, 177, 181 compression
Mods: 2.5" Catback with Magnaflow
Greddy BOV
MBC
Autometer Boost Gauge
Autometer A/F Ratio Gauge
Aircan cutout
K&N Filter Replacement
Hard upper pipe
I have been deep into the Small Block Chevy crowd for years. I owned a 1992 Z28 25th Anniversary Camaro for 6 yrs and recently traded it for my DSM. I'm very happy and haven't looked back, but am now needing some help, as I know nothing about Turbos and its supporting system, other than what I try to absorb reading all the tech articles late at night.
My car is peppy, but I'm sure its losing power due to a faulty O2 sensor. I have a non wide-band A/F Gauge that shows rich all the time. The richest most LED on the A/F Gauge stays lit at all times, and VERY rarely swings back and forth like my gauges on my other cars do. I know this isn't a wideband system, but staying on one rich LED at all times to me doesn't sound right, and I'm sure its hurting my performance. Not to mention I get roughly 210 miles to the tank, even when attempting to stay out of the boost. Typical back and forth to work stuff, no racing etc.
The car certainly smells rich at times but before I go replacing a potentially pricey O2 sensor (compared to SBC parts), I want to get some input.
I plan on the following mods by Christmas
-2.5" Downpipe
-Ported O2 housing
-ported manifold
-ported wastegate
-14B
-550cc
-190pump
I'm looking for a nice mid 13sec daily driver. I think this setup will do it, or at least I hope it will.
