You know what now I am thinking air is going to go around the radiator and not in it.

You want the air to cool the radiator also so with air moving around and thru it you should be fine, just put your bumper back on..

Ok I'll say this I have pulled mine off both my 1G and 2G DSM and never had I had a porblem with overheating. The only time I had a problem is when my HG was busted at the waterjackets.
