ending good but f'ed up movie. kinda pissed me off cause i saw things happen before they did but all and all good flick :thumb:

If you want to watch a f'd up movie, rent "Gummo". Very, very sick, twisted movie. I guarantee you will be pissed/confused/and shocked all at the same time ;)

fulanititoo8198, you really should edit your post. It kind of ruins it for anyone who hasn't seen it.

seven blows this movie out of the water hands down. The story was just so much better with the seven deadly sins. Saw was pretty good, I get to see all the movies early because my family owns a video store  so I was watching it on dvd when it was just comin out in theaters. The ending on Saw caught me off gaurd definately wasnt expecting that. The razor wire and jaw machine was just sick....

ya i wasnt expecting the ending at all. but i posted this cause the movie came out yesterday on dvd for those who didnt see it in the theater.

Yah the acting towards the end was just horrible. Spoiler below, highlight it if you want to read it...

Especially the part where the doctor started to saw off his foot, that whole scene was just horrible. I dont know how they put it in the movie, they should have re-did it without the ### love scene part hehe

I liked it. Has to have one of the best endings ever. Although Cary Elwes' acting was atrocious. He was much better in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Crush, Twister, etc.

LIAR LIAR !! Hey gipper !! :p <--made SAW not scary for me , I kept seeing him say that. LOL

damn your right, I deleted it. Either way it was a good movie and the ending was very unexpecting.

It actually came out yesterday on DVD and video. I saw it at Blockbuster last night. Also movies can be had before they hit theatres. You car get a rip of one from the net if you know were to look. I watched Underworld at a buddies house the weekend it opened. Also, movies stores get advanced copies of movies well before they are on DVD and sometimes before it hits theaters.

Hate to burst YOUR bubble, but nice try to you.

if you bothered to read his post he said he had it on DVD from the producer when it was in THEATERS

i know it came out yesterday smart guy, what im saying is the producer does NOT have it on DVD for anyone when its still out in theaters

now if hes talking about a rip thats something else

nice try though mr observant

Show me were it says from the producers. It doesnt that must be why you named me MR. Observant, thanks. You make it sound like he said that he sat down with the producer and got a handjob while watching them edit the movie live. He saw it before it came out get over it.

You know this for sure how?? From what I have seen the producer will have a somewhat finished version to give out to VIP's or special people in the industry before it comes out, some of those people maybe video stores. They obviously dont sell it, but it is nice to be able to do that for certain people.

now if hes talking about a rip thats something else

Yeah that was covered, thanks for the breaking news.

well the fact tha he said " I get to see all the movies early because my family owns a video store " puts the whole rip theory out because then anyone and their grandma could have it, not just him because his family owns a video store

why would they invest their time or money in making the dvd if they didnt plan on releasing it for another 6 months when they (movie maker people) have better things to put their time and money into such as marking, the premier, or one of the other million things they have to do
they wouldnt, hence the reason the dvd takes so long to get released

I worked at Blockbuster and still watched RIPed movies.

The DVD that is released before the actuall release date is not the same as the actual DVD. It doesnt have special features, scene selection, just the movie. Alot of time they have a small subtitle that reads soemthing like "if you have purchased this DVD you have done so illegaly and can face charges". Most of the time the cover box picture isnt even finished yet when we would get them.

As far as money goes, if I spent millions on a movie and have all that technology at my hands it would cost next to nothing to make 5 copies and give them out to other movie starts, sound track artist, or another group of people.

i think saw sucked. i had seen the grudge like a week before i saw the saw. and saw could not compete. granted i saw a bootleg version with a girl i was trying to get with, and as soon as the movie was over we made out a bit and she sent me packing.DOH! maybe i just had a bad experience with that movie. but there are deffinatly more messed up movies out there than that.

sure it would cost next to nothing, i jsut see no reason for them to risk giving them out to 5 people because just one person has to let their friend borrow it for it to be all over the internet and in every other persons home within a week, they just wouldnt risk it

Very true. I am guessing that is why a few end up getting RIP'd.

My thoughts would be something like this,

Lets say you want Ben Afflack in your movie. You give him a copy of your newest release before it is on the big screen. You let him look at it and he likes it, then decides to be in your new movie. That could make you millions, plus he feels like a cool guy becasue he got to see it before it came out.

The other that is more likely would be soundtrack work. You get a few copies and give them to artist that are going to be on the sounds track. This way they can get a feel for the movie and the songs they want to write for it. By the time the movie is released so is the soundtrack.

Again, like you said, bootlegging would be a big problem but those seem to make sense to me as far as early release DVD's.

true, but which of those has anything to do with a video rental store?

Thats a good question. I am really not sure how we got the movies we did. When I would ask they would just let us know that we can watch them as long as we watched them in the store. I actually never found out who we got them from it was somewhat hush hush.
