i recently got a set of 2g rims that i plan to use as summer wheels. they have some wear and tear and have been rattle can' ed black i started sanding them with various sandpaper but i have a sand blaster gun. im not looking to trash my rims. but i am filling in the gashes and intend to repaint black. how should i go about it with the sandblaster? what media should i use to take the black paint off and then prep for a propper paint?

If your just trying to get the paint off, just use some paint stripper.

We use coal slag which you can get at supply stores such as Tractor Supply for $8 a bag. I suggest doing that and then respraying them.

I have the same wheels but with the fake chrome...there chipping horrible...i scraped and pressure washed them and it's barely coming off...even where it's chipping....how do you get the chrome off

One thing i recommend even if you puff can the rims is to get some real automotice clear (not from a spray can) shot on them and give them 72 hours to cure before running them. If you use spray apint you'll have to use a eurathan clear so it wont wrinkle the puff paint (high solids has too hot of chemicals in it and will lift spray paint right up)

This will ensure the rims look good for years to come where as EVERY spray paint wheel job i've seen has cracked and flaked to death in 2 years or so even when they were puff can cleared
