So I went out to Sears yesterday and got their little sand blaster kit. I'm ready to go crazy with it but as soon as I got home with it it just had to snow so now I got to wait. AAAHHHHH I'm gonna go insane.... but ill put pics up ASAP

I assume you just got the gun/canister kit, and not one that includes a cabinet? That would make sand blasting very hard I would think.

FYI, I don't know if it'd be worth your time/effort to be a Freelancer offering blasting. If you don't have a large compressor and a very good setup, it can take a long time to do even some normal sized pieces. I have a very large cabinet at a friend's hooked up to his big compressor (80 gallon I think) and I even dread doing some stuff for myself.

Haha Nah I prob won't be doing any freelancing just my own stuff. Small stuff. It's just the gun and a canister for the sand its not that bad with out the box I used the same one at my friends place to blast my valve cover and it didn't take that long. I'll be using my 25 gallon 2 horsepower craftsman professional compressor. I got the blaster for $50

Remember sand is very abrasive so be careful what you are blasting.

I built a cheapie Soda blaster since it's less abrasive and won't damage the stuff I'm working on. Even with my small 3 Gal. compressor in my shop it works fine.

I've never heard of a soda blaster? I won't be using it on a thin metal just some accessory brackets and tubular exhaust mani. I dont think this one will blast thru anything I'm throwing at it.

The other plus of a soda blaster is that the media can be dissolved. This is especially true when it comes to valve covers, as this is the ideal way to clean one. If not, you need to keep in mind the baffle and keeping media out of there.

A soda blaster is also what they typically use when they blast whole cars as it won't mar the metal surface for when they lay paint down.
