safc2 2g knock question

So i know the safc 2 knock sensor does not read right on the 2g's, but i have had hooked up this way for about 6 months anywase becasue i didnt know it when i installed it. Just curious if i should be worried that it reads between 40 and 55 counts at idle and 70 at wot. I know it doesnt work but is it just off by a little and i really am having knock or do they not work at all and i probably having nothing to worry about. I do have a bit off lifter tick so it could be phantom knock. I know you are going to say get a logger and i am going to but money is tight. Basically should i continue to drive my car and not worry till i get a logger, garage it, or continue to drive and disconnect knock wire from safc 2. It wil most likely be 4 months before i can get a logger.

Ignore the S-AFC. No way of really knowing until you get a logger.

You can disconnect the SAFC, you can retrain it, and/or just ignore it. It will never tell you what the ECU considers knock, it will only tell you if the engine is making different noises than when you trained it.

I know that a PDA logger w/ MMCD does do knock counts. Just buy a cheap palm PDA and cable from eBay.

No 2G Datalogger can read Knock. You have to step up to DSMLink, AEM, etc. to see actual knock.

Evoscan reads knock sum. Its the best 2g logger out there, and pretty cheap to!
