In the install manual it says to connect the rpm wire to the 16pin clip on the ecu however it doesnt read accuratly at all. in the vfaq it states to connect it to the 4th wire from the left on the bottom of the 24 pin clip. when I did that the car wouldnt start (electric shut off). any ideas?

Ok when you say it doesnt read acurately how off is it b/c it will read about 2-3 hundred rpms off from what you see on your OEM tach. Now if it is way off I would go with what vfaq says thats how I did it and everything working fine with me.

I was idling at 1100 and it was showing about 600 and as it rose, the afc did but by a lot less. my idle is also up and down too which wasnt before. I double checked my connection where vfaq says to do it and its not starting at all.

Both wiring diagrams are different, some have it one place some have it in another......totally stumped

If you wire as the S-AFC manual states it should be reading half. go into the set up the the S-AFC set it as a 2 cly and it will read correctly. This is due to the way our coil pack is set up. If you use the VFAQ wiring then you can have is set as a 4 cly.
