Rusty bolts under the hood..

I have some rusty bolts under my hood that are an eyesore, Would you recommend replacing them or cleaning them up? If cleaning them up how would you recommend cleaning them up?

I would just get new bolts. Most of the bolts will be M6 or M8 in various lengths. I replaced all mine with zinc plated bolts so they all look the same.

Just replace them with same grade bolts. They're all either a flange M6x1 or a M8x1.25. You can also get them black to match even better.

I'd be way more worried about getting an upper timing cover on that thing before replacing nasty looking bolts.

Looks like your missing a bolt for one of the radiator brackets. I broke one of those bolts off because it was rusted so bad. The bolt turned into powder haha.

If you get black bolts then be careful, most black bolts are black alloy steel and will RUST!

Yea thats one im missing, Thats kind of what im doing along with replacing, And the timing belt cover is off because I just did the timing belt while im waiting for my new clutch and flywheel to arrive.

Personally i have done two builds. On both builds I went on ebay and bought 50 m6 x 1.25 x 20 bolts and about 20 m8 bolts. I made sure they were stainless steel. It only cost me maybe 20 dollars and that is including washers. It is by far the best thing i have done since it has been a year and they all still look beautiful.

stainless steel socket head cap screws are my poison of choice. let me know what you need. i live near one of the largest suppliers for bolts and fasteners and bet 100,000 + piece prices because of selling bolt kits on the 3000gt forums. Havent started to do them yet for dsms because i dont know what is supposed to be on the car since mine was butchered.

I prefer OEM bolts mostly for a stealth look. Mitsubishi has some strong OEM hardware anyway

Check this classified out, I'm buying some bolts right now from him. Just take a picture of the bolt and see if he has it

Definitely replace, being from New York I've dealt with my share of rust and I'm done trying to clean the shit up, I replace everything I can with stainless when possible.
