Anyone have any input on restoring rusty bolts/brackets in the engine bay? Besides the obvious sanding or buying new brackets? I want the brackets to look like the original ones when they were brand new. I dont have access to a sandblaster, or a powder coat setup.

Turn them from the usual corroded rusty stage, to their shiny gold new state?

As you can see the A/C bracket is practically new, all the shock tower bolts, all the little clamps, and the bolts on the firewall.

All input will be greatly appreciated. :thumb:

Anyway you could, but sand blasting, or glassbeading it works wonders everything looks, new and ive coated everything i sand blasted. Look at my blog there are some pics, ive tried sanding, too much time. Blasting took about 5 minutes for small stuff.

I know you dont have a blaster but i tried other things wasnt the same, it removed rust and other dirt. Clean engine.

Well sanding them down would take that "Coating?" off. (Not sure of the right word). Unless I were to spray paint them with some type of gold paint. I just dont want to resort to sanding them and either painting them aluminum or black.

Well you could paint them, i got sick of sanding and stripping, got messy and nasty. I have blasted evreything in my bay, and im just about done powdercoating. It looks better than oem. Brackets, bolts, battery tray, you name it i started a blog on it. I cant think of anything else, to use.

AH i thought it was yours. I want mine to look good ive been following turbo sax, wire tuck, and overall a very clean bay. Im sick of the dirty bay, so now im getting it done the way ive always wanted. Trying to restore it.
