Here is the problem. My 2g has a Apexi AFC, when is plug, the car idles really high but everything else works fine. But when I unplug the AFC, the revs goes down but the car is running rich. When i push the accelerator does like when the spark plugs are bad and does not accelerate at all. What can I do. Thanks.

Assuming the AFC is set up right when you disconnect it you're disconnected the MAF signal to the ECU, which would explain why it runs pig rich and doesn't accelerate worth a damn. The AFC usually comes with little butt connectors for disconnecting of the AFC's MAF wires and reconnection of the MAF lines directly to the ECU, but you would know that if you were the one who had installed it. You could look for that and reconnect the lines directly assuming your goal here is to remove the AFC.

Hello... I agree with the above statement... Is the AFC set up right? What injectors are you running? Any other background info on the situation would help everyone to better diagnose your issue... Any tuning logs or data from wideband, or something like that? Without knowing these little details, it would be a shot in the dark

He says his only problem is a high idle. Check for vacuum leaks and try adjusting the bids screw in the throttle body and let us know what you find.

Oh, my bad  I got hung up on the last part where he said it ran like it had bad spark plugs when he accelerated... Boost/vacuum leak test like inthemidst said :thumb:

Let me ask you, that means that if the AFC is not set right by the moment that I unplug it, the car is going to be wrong?? And how I know the right settings?? That was in the car when I got it. From where I see it looks like the AFC has some kind of soldering to the ECU. Tomorrow Im taking a picture to make sure that im not wrong. Yes I want to remove the AFC.

The car has the oem injectors. I dont have any data. Im trying to figured out somebody else mistake, i think.

... OK, you said that you have no air leaks... Do you have a modified (hacked) airflow meter? Check you IAC as well... That thing can unleash pure hell on things ESPECIALLY when it comes to the idle... I wish I knew more to help, but my knowledge is somewhat limited :aha:

Hey. It's just strange that the owner before you had an safc hooked up with just stock injectors :hmm: But have you checked the IAC valve yet?
