someone help please. i did research this prob. i cant find the answer. ive been building this car for a long time and ive fianly got it running. now im tryin to fine tune but i cant figure out why its runnin to right . i have a 255 fuel pump with stock rail and injectors and adjustable fuel regulator. my regulator is set at 45 any less it wont start any more it wont run. i would like to put in bigger injectors but im getting way to much fuel as it is and my wideband gage isnt reading anything but i kno its working. when i turn the car on it jumps up but when runnin it stay at the bottom even when its reved up . the car wont run on its own at all unless u keep fethering the gas. even if u hold ## foot down at about 3000 rpm it will still bog down and die what is my problem can any one help me !?

sounds like you have the same problem my brother had with his car, it was running just pig rich. what ended up being the problem was the timing was all wrong, and ended up bending at least half of his valves. might check your timing.

what was worng with his timing ? like ### was off ? intake exaughst or the crank ? jus i just did my timing 3 diffrent time ### i couldnt get the damn tensioner right LOL but i looked at it and it seems to be right but if i really need to ill tare it back apart and do it again if u think u can pinpoint at the thing that could be messed up on it

to be honest i really do not completely understand what went wrong there but he had 272 cams, and stock gears. I think it was like all of the exhaust valves but not sure. When he was trying to run the car he would have to keep it floored in order to stay running (had a walbro 255lph afpr).

ya idk i was wondering if it could be my cams doing it because i have the 288 stage 4 cams . but i really dont kno and i called brain crower and they said they dont kno ### to tell me ### good r they if they kno nothing about there own cams !? LOL well if anyone has any more ideas let me kno please

288 camsWTF
Shep ran 8s on 272s
Was your piston to valve clearance measured?. It says you have 9:1 compression too
The car shouldn't only run on one fp setting either (45psi):hmm:
Sounds like your timing is off or you bent up some valves. Could be a big boost leak, i guess too

Those cams are huge and require extensive hands on tuning with fuel trims and the cams them selves to get the car running right. Those are designed for heavily modified motors, that don't run on the streets.

i cant remember the ptv clearence sorry . and i know the valves arent bent there fine . but i do have a big boost leak the turbo it self leaks because i forgot to put on one of the gaskets . but would that really make it run as rich as mine is runnin ? and i kno it equires extensive tuning . thats what im doing . but i cant get it to lean out . and mine will be on the streets also .mostly street and drag every once in a while but its not done yet . its close but i think my tps might be bad too becuase it wont idle i had it idle good when i first got it running but now it runs rich as hell and wont run unless u keep on the gas so im tryin to work out the bugs but im close i jus need a lil help figurin this out

A big boost leak would deffinitly make it run rich because if you have a normal 2g maf it is before the turbo compressor intake, and if the air is leaking between the turbo and ic piping then that means not all of the air that you maf is seeing is making it to the intake manifold. The maf will then tell the ecu to add as much fuel to match the amount of air that it saw which would now be less due to the boost leak. So you would have more fuel then needed = running rich.
