Ok first off this is one of those questions I had no idea on where to post, but here goes.

I was driving in my gst and it was acting very weird like it didnt really have any power and when it got to where boost kicked in it fell on its face, while it was doing this I noticed my factory boost gauge was not working. At first i didnt think they were related and didnt really care because well who uses the factory gauge anyway, but then all of a sudden it started running great and boosting fine and i looked down and the factory gauge was working again. If anyone has any info on this please help the alternator went out on my dd yesterday so the gst has to step up to the plate until this weekend so i can fix the dd on my day off. I changed out the maf sensor with another one i had and it did the same thing, its just weird because it will run like crap and then all of a sudden be fine until the next time i drive it then its back to crap. like i said any input would be great. i need this fixed asap.

First and foremost, boost leak? i'd do a proper test to make sure. At least for now do a visual and tug inspection to make sure one of your i/c pipes isn't barely hanging on for dear life, LOL

not really any boost leaks maybe a couple very small ones but nothing hanging off LOL. It started doing this a couple days ago, and i just put a pr fmic on last night, so unless i some how got the same boost leaks i doubt it LOL, but thanks for the input its very strange.

Where the wise-men at with their off the wall things that are usually right LOL.

Found that when I force it to hit boost it backfires when I shift. But when the factory boost gauge is working it boosts fine with no back fire. I'm stumped sounds like a bad sensor or something loose buy I have no idea what. Could it maybe be the knock sensor? I'm not really sure if it can cause this but it is about the only one I haven't checked

Ok I guess I fixed the problem. I put in my EPROM ecu I had sitting in the garage waiting, and it seems to have fixed it. I don't know if it had something to do with the chip that is in it changed the use of the factory boost gauge to a knock gauge or not. But it's working now.
