I have new agx/proline setup and after the install I was driving around and I hear a faint rubbing noise. It is metal on metal and sounds like something thin rubbing against another surface. I've looked for any new marks on anything and can't find were in the heck its coming from. I also put on 2g brakes and didn't remove the dust shield, could it be rubbing against the rotor?? Bad ball joint?? I'm so lost....

Oh, it's coming from the front passenger side!

Probably the dust sheild. Jack the front up and spin the wheel.

I bent the dust shield back and i'm still hearing the noise!! Could it be that 2g brakes don't fit factory 1g rims??

I guess I should have been more specific. Jack the car up, spin the wheel... look around for things that could be hitting. Can you even hear the noise when you do this?

I doubt it is the caliper... what size rims are they? Either way, look at the inside of the rim, is it scratched up?

While the wheel is up, grab the wheel at 12 an 6 o'clock. Wiggle the wheel, can you feel any play?

Did you install new pads, are the pads that are on there good?

Use your head! If you can swap brakes, you should be able to diagnose this!

Hey found the rubbing noise..........It was a nipple off my high flow cat rubbing against the drive line OMG Thanks RnR for that one, 40 bucks later my cat is repaired and my exhaust relocated!!!
