Rpm's too high?

I have a 1993 GSX Automatic and I tach 3,500rpms at 70mph.Is this normal?The cars been down for a while and I don't remember it being this high.Overdrive is working so I don't know whats up.

I've read it is normal for AWD autos mine does it or close to it at 60 I'm taching 3,100rpm

The problem with the auto's at 70 mph is that we only have 4 gears..So yes your car is taching normal at 70 mph..She eats alot of gas on the highway don't she?

Yeah I was about to say that my car (5 Speed) sits around there at 70 on the highway.
