Royal Purple Max-Gear 75w-90 Gear Oil Review

To start off I used Pennzoil Syncromesh in my transmission from early this year (January), transmission shifted like brand new, never a crunch or a grind. "Butter" as you would call it. After about 8 months (3500 miles) and many track days the tranny started shifting poorly into 2nd & 3rd gear while not yet grinding, just took alot of arm muscle to get it into gear, no where near smooth like it was. Upset in thinking I needed a rebuild as a last resort I decided to try out some Royal Purple Max-gear 75w-90 gear oil. While searching the forums didn't turn up much I decided to go out and purchase 3 bottles at $10 a quart. At first I was very surprised on how much thicker the stuff is compared to the Pennz. (Maybe this is why my car shifts better cold on Pennz) Drained out the old gear oil into a pan, no metal shavings but very dark, kinda green colored? I've used Pennz on all my dsm's and its nowhere near that color when put in. Royal purple really is purple and goes in ALOT slower because its ALOT thicker. First drive out of the garage was awesome!!! Nothing sloppy about it went into every gear smooth without force of any kind. All I can say is OMG wow!!! I though for sure my transmission was trash and now its like night and day I couldn't be happier. Shifts like it dad when I first got the car. This stuff is worth trying !!!!
