when im at a stop light...the motor feels rough and the rpms range anywhere from 900 to 2300 and it just feels really crappy while sitting there..any idea whats wrong guys...i just have this feeling im losing her :(

more info...tell us the problem word for word and be exact...there are so many problems out there.

ok so basically here it is step for step, and by the way my check engine light came on today...so lets say im sitting in one spot idling...as i come to the stop my car is in neutral and is at about 2500 rpms and jumps around a little bit then drops to 900 - 1000 rpms...but the whole time im idling i can feel it is really rough through the pedals...and this process repeats itself everytime i stop...the rpms range though every time...

If your light came on its probably the O2 senor, have it replaced, also get a new PCV valve if you haven't recently. That might help some of the problem unless it is something more serious. In my experience our cars just idle rough and there is not much you can do about it without a complete rebuild. My idle is anywhere from 750 (ideal) to 1100 if it is cold out and depending on how I am driving, it runs fine other than that.

it sounds like your car may be running rich at idle. if you have no fuel unit upgrades then it sounds like your maf might not be sensoring enough airflow and therefore your ecu automatically sends a message to supply more fuel at idle. running rich can ruin your 02 sensor in which probably cause your engine light to go on. but check if your connect to the maf is good (not loose or bad wires) before you change the maf or something

besides that the weather has been cold so it might be the FIAV (fast idle air valve) which automatically helps adjust a cold engine at idle. i heard this can be a problem sometimes.
