Started out today with my car sounding like crap. Started it up and it sounded like the timing jumped even though it ran great last night. Took off the upper cover and the lines matched up perfect. Wouldn't build boost, smelled like gas but the plugs were white as a ghost. Now later tonight I went to start it back up and it sounded like it was hammering pretty bad. Did a compression test, 150 across the board. Car won't idle. Sounds like the valves are smashing the pistons, it threw a check engine light finally and it shut my SAFC off on me. Now the car won't rev past 2k and runs like complete crap. Still sounds like it's hammering. And idea's. Also at idle I only get 10hg instead of my normal 18 or 19.

You need to re-check your timing. Pull off the valve cover and check for any kind of damage.
Run a boost leak test per vfaq.
What CEL were you throwing?

Not sure what CEL is threw. Timing is fine, haven't taken off the valve cover yet. Sounds like either the cam is broke or a rocker are is broke. Just sounds horrific. Definatly not a boost leak. Never heard a boost leak sound like that before.

It's unusual for the timing to be good, and your cam to smack off the rollers. However it's a DSM so... lets get dirty.
Pull off the valvecover. Push down in the middle of the timing belt between the two cam gears and see if your cam moves around.
If so, it could mean a faulty timing belt tensioner (this one is new to me, I just found this out yesterday.... kinda strange) or improperly torqued cam caps. This however is almost always associated with incorrect timing.

Almost sounds like I'm just not getting any oil to the cylinder head and it somehow forced it into limp mode. I checked the tension and the cams won't move. Timing is still fine. Really baffled on this one. I will let you know tonight when I get back from racing.
