2G Rotted Strut Tower Advice

Just looking for advice. Is this too far gone for patch panels? I’m not the best with a welder or fabricator but do believe I can make basic patch panels. Not sure or confident if I could fabricate or even cut out an entire strut tower and replace it.

Personally, I would replace the whole strut tower if you can. I think patch panels would be more work and probably not as good of a repair. You don’t want to go to the effort of patching that and then it just rusts again because you didn’t get all of it. It’s also going to be more difficult to patch that and blend it all so it doesn’t look like an obvious patch job. Replacing the whole tower seems like a more involved job but I think in the big picture it would be a better repair, better results, and worth the effort.

If you can weld in a patch panel you can weld in a tower. Practice on some other metal first or cut up your old ones to practice.

Consider getting new (to you) ones from Miller import parts.
