I couldnt find anything revelant to using rod bolt stretch, although I know most guys on the forum use the method.
I have the ARP 2000s that come with Eagle rods. My gauge setup is a Proform.
One angry night, I started going into torquing the rod caps but didnt realize I was measuring the wrong way. For some reason I couldnt get the bolts to "stretch".
Now that I have that figured out, Im wondering if theres a standard length to the ARP bolts? When I measure all of mine they are within .007" of each other, but that doesnt help much when I didnt measure them all before the torquing. (the idiot moment)
Should I just go ahead and order new rod bolts (probably the preferred) or should I go off what they are measuring now and go for the .0055"-.0059" stretch? Mind you I may have overtorqued them a few ft/lbs and I dont want this engine to fall apart.
