For years we've suffered at the hands of mother nature by only attending events on the shoulder seasons at Road America. For the last 5 years I've gone every spring and fall to the first and last events scheduled at Road America because they were much cheaper. But consequently, we've suffered through rain, snow, freezing rain, sleet, and sustained temps below freezing. Oh and snooty waiters tired of dealing with tourists. LOL

I'll never forget the two ice zones this last April. In the braking zone before the Carousel and after Turn 5 there are two bridges. These bridges had 5 foot deep stretches of ice that ran the whole width of the track. There was no way to drive around it. We discovered the ice on the parade lap, so there was a little warning. It was easy enough to deal with the ice before the Carousel; just slow down earlier and slide straight through. However, the ice after Turn 5 was another matter. You couldn't really see it (black ice), you just felt the back end kick out at full throttle = 100+mph! WTF

------Well, NASA Midwest has secured a date for August 4th and 5th!------

Aug. 4th is even my birthday! :D

I suppose if your car doesn't make any torque and you have mud & snow tires, it wouldn't slip on the ice. LOL ROFL

My old roommate just approached me about going to this event up there. It's a long drive for me but he's from Chicago so I would have a free place to stay for the night and it's only a couple hours from the track I'm told. If the money is there I hope to join some of you guys up there in August as my car has already been on that track but I havn't yet.

Got a time machine? That was last year.

I did check this years NASA schedule and it seems there is a R.A. weekend on Aug. 1-3.

Maybe a new thread/announcement?

Oops!! Didn't realize this was 06, thought it was 07!!ROFL

Funny thing is, I didn't create a new thread because that auto search function when you make a new thread as it brought up this one!!! Oh well, I'll make a new one so people don't get confused like me!!:thumb:

So you'll be there, Zero Bar?

I am now planning on getting to that event in some capacity. Is anyone else here going? I'll see if any of the displaced fall Speedseekers/MFBA group are interested.

I hope to make it. My plan is to either attend this or the Solo Nationals this fall, just depends on if I have the money and wether I get a codrive for the Solo Nats or not.
