So what can I do, that doesn't weigh too much, to quiet down the exhaust noise inside the car. I don't mind it when the windows are rolled down, but inside is a bit annoying. I don't run with my spare and I don't have the rear shelf to maybe help keep some of the noise down.

Thanks

If its too loud, maybe you need to consider a hobby such as knitting or underwater basketweaving instead of automotive modification.

OH SNAP!!!!

LOL

but seriously, if you get some dynamat or something similar, and throw it over the floor roughly above and around where the muffler is, itll die that noise down a bit.

i had to do it to de-rice my 1g n/t when i got it. sounded like a kazoo in a wind tunnel

Considered putting this thread in the newbie forum, but this forum seemed just as appropriate.

Thought of a silencer, but I read/heard that it can rob a bit of power.

Foam+car would be like demolition man

Yes,too loud, on the inside. When you've had it for a year and you get tired of the drooooooooooooooning and not being able to hear a passenger very well, it gets annoying.

Like I side, it's fine outside, inside it's too much now.

I was thinking light dynamat<---- Or Raamat, or spray on deadener.

I guess some of us grow up and out of the obscenely loud exhaust....at least on the inside :thumb:

I would try some simple sound material like Dyno Mat like stated before. My 3" Turbo-Back is loud at some times and rattles certain area's of my car at certain RPMs. It doesn't bother me anough to fix it though. But I will eventually.

yeah my exhaust rattles stuff once in awhile. i just ignore it though LOL

but yea i agree, extra sound deadening on the floor will help. i have all of mine removed which makes the exhaust even louder inside

If you buy sound deadener, buy this stuff called "RAAMmat" from Rick McCallum: www.raamaudio.com It's just as good and about 1/4 the price of dynamatt (overpriced because of name).

I used a little over a roll and did my entire car, literally (doors, floor all over every metal surface and spare tub well).

If you want to get really hardcore, then get some volara foam from www.foambymail.com and use some contact cement to adhere it to the RAAMmat. It will quiet down the inside of your ride CONSIDERABLY.

Take it from a car audio guy. ;)

I've got a dunk 115 with a dynamatted rear flor and sidewalls and it is pretty quiet from the bak, nowI notice a lot more noise from the doors, and the dang upper seatbelt adjsuters fire road noise right into my ears... a little more dynamat and it will be a GOOD highway car w/o giving up performance.

I would suggest at least putting the trunk floor back in... all the factory sound deadening for the rear area is tween the carpet and the trunk board.

Don't be such a tampon.

No but seriously, throw a silencer together with some mig welds and sheet metal or you can buy my silencer... $25 shipped! :thumb:

pick up a glasspack for $20, bring it to a muffler shop and have it welded in for ~$30... thats the best way i think. it will lower the tone and quiet it down.
