Im doing a 2Gb conversion on my 95 Talon. Rather spending the big bucks for the OEM headlights I can get these projectors for under $190 shipped.

Opinions?

Are you worried you will get called names for buying those headlights?
It's sad that people overthink rice. That word got played out so quick. Warning tho, non-dual headlight projectors have actually been known to not produce very good lighting.

Dunno tho, I would pickup a set of used 2g 98-99 headlights (black housings) and they should only run you about 150-225 shipped. Look around bro.

Many civics have ruined headlights for a lot of people it seems LOL. Those look fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Follow 98RedGS though and look around for better deals.

Man if you come to our meet in a conversoin i'm going to kick your @ss. I like the look of the 2g Talon; i cant believe you want to change it.

If you honestly have to ask the internet whether something is rice or not, you need to figure out why you're modifying a car. Are you doing it to satisfy yourself? Or are you doing it to satisfy the internet jockeys?

actually the only reason I'm changing lights is because when I swap the new (97-99) Eclipse bumper my OEM lights from my Talon will no longer fit.

Uh, since when are aftermarket headlights considered "rice"? And why are you worried about what other people think about such a conservative mod? Build the car for YOU -- you'll never be happy with it unless you customize it in a way that you think looks good. That's what it's all about...it's YOUR ride.

I'm looking at some halo headlights myself when I decide on a front-end that I like. I'm going to go with these:

I was seriously thinking about getting some projectors then I found one 97OEM headlight for 20 bux and got the other one off ebay for 90.

I'm just a bit worried how black housing projector lights will look on a white car...:)

those lights are awesome...

these are the lights that i got.. don't care what anyone else thinks... but i think they're really nice... i especially like the halo...but beauty is in the eye of the beholder... they will be going on when i get enough cash to buy the paint for my front end....

I love the look of projectors, but i still stand by my opinion when I say projectors are only worth buying if you have a set of HID in your possesion to use as well. Projector lighting is crap, especially those that use the H3 bulb. You might as well turn off your headlights and roll with only your fogs. I do think they look better than OEM housings, but I dont want to sacrifice lighting in order to save a few bucks.

I heard somewhere that the projectors don't light up the road well, and that factoid has soaked into whatever kind of jelly it is that takes up space in what would be a brain case, if there was one in it. Apparently this applied to early projectors, and the newer ones are better.

And oddly, when I hear "rice", my inner voices translate it so that I hear, "Please strike me in the face, quite firmly", and then before I know it my mouth is saying the most horrible things about that person's mother.

Indeed, those lights look real nice.

What is the problem with you people and your "fear" of "rice"? Really, if you like get it. It seems that it is getting to the point of any modification done to your car that isn't designed for performance is "rice".

My feelings exactly. I think it's due to the fact that most tuners always think along the lines of how the money put into any non-performance part could have been used to buy XYZ part to make the car 0.XX faster in the 1/4. To me, leaving your car to look like a Hertz rental car and putting all your money into performance is a futile endeavor because there will always be cars faster than you. It's like one big pissing contest.

I would rather have an all around balanced car (looks performance handling) instead of an all out performance car. It's all about what you want out of the car. Not to mention HP/TQ numbers usually don't impress the women as well as the car's appearance ;)

I also would like to do a conversion to my talon but I was wondering how you go about changing the fingernail spoiler to the 2g "turbo spoiler"? Would you just buy a whole new hatch part?

I love black housing projectors on 2g's. If I had a 2g I would have black projectors on it. PIMP:cool: With an HID conversion. Even more
