Quick and possibly stupid question. If I don't plan on lowering my car (95 Talon Tsi AWD) What size rim is going to look better, 17" or 18"... or will it matter? I do have lowering springs but it's my daily driver and It sits at a good height as it stands. What do you guys think? Thanks.

If you plan on staying at stock ride height, 17" wheels will be a better choice. My car has stock suspension as it sits right now and I previously had 17s and it still looked good even with the wheel gap at stock ride height. This year I switched up to 18s still at stock ride height and it just doesnt look all that great. Makes the car look like a monster truck.

I would go with 18s if you are just going to daily it. 18s look better in my opinion and are the perfect fit. 17s are good if you want to fit a meatier tire with a bit more sidewall and track it.

Also, the style and look of the wheel will play a role in how big the wheels appear on the car. My 18s have ten spokes that are thick, but my friend has 18s also have ten spokes that are thin. The thicker spokes tend to make the wheel look big. However, at the end of the day it all comes down to personal prefrence. Go with what you like and what you think will look good. If you come accross a set of wheels that you like get them. Lastly, remember that tires for 18s will cost a bit more than the tires for the 17s.

I agree with the 17s. They look better and give you a little different look on the tires.

Here is a picture of how my 18s look, sorry for the low quality its the only one I have. Also, if you follow the link you can see some pictures of how my 17s look.

Thanks guys! Thanks for the pic etc Silver, this will help me choose.

I think for summer etc I want to go with 18"s. However it will depend on what look I go with, tires etc. And maybe a second set of 17"s for the rest of the year. I am going to check out what I can get around here.

17's ? just need to lower front as you can see rear is nice..

I told myself I will only go 17s if they were oem gsx wheels. Which I finally found a set. I gonna get some coilover (Megan EZ) to drop it soon. Otherwise 18 and some coilover for sure.

Yeah I have some eibach springs for my car. I just dont want to lower it. I find it a nicer ride at stock height. We have a lot of bumps and rough roads here LOL.

^^ Bet you MB has you beat!

P.S I have to rub it in, since all my friends were routing for canucks,

Bruins!!!

Go 18's BTW

I'm not really a hockey fan, MMA is my sport LOL. Yeah, thank god no one was burning/flipping cars here.

18s with a decent offset, drop the ride height so the fenders are just starting to tuck over the the tires. 18x9 +35mm wheels would be perfect ;) if your willing to play with a fender roller!

17s are so much more practical for a daily driver. Replacement tires cost less and since you can go with a higher sidewall it should be a more comfortable ride. Because of the thin sidewall low profile tires usually have a stiffer/harsher ride.

this is 18s with low profiles and stock suspension.

I have both 17s and 18s for my car so I shall post both to give you an idea. I am lowered quite a bit (as low as I can on my coilovers).
