Today at the shop, Cory and Myself were sitting there looking at the car trying to find ways to make it a little lighter. One thing led to another and before we knew it the whole thing was apart. LOL. Needless to say we found a lot of things that were not needed for our car and the car is loosing a lot of weight. When we are done the car will still be full interior just without all the extra weight.

Here are some pics....
Man that sunroof looks heavy....

We have a while to get all this done but why not start now? I think our goal for next year will be to compete with the big guys but still maintaining the "Street car" image. The car is in such good shape that I cant bring myself to hack it up.

Look at all that heavy sound deadening material all over the floor board. Yeah thats defenatly got to go. Iam sure its nothing ya'll dont know but i used a snap-on air powered scraper on mine, did my enire talon in ten minutes.

Looking good! Ditch that sun roof! I was looking at a 1g with a sunroof before I bought mine and planned on fabbing a carbon fibre blank to go in place of all that heavy "glass" stuff.

Possibly gut the rear doors? It's not like most of us have rear seat passengers anyways right? If they want the windows down just tell them the child safety locks won't allow it:D

since your stripping her. You could do what the rally teams do. Scrape all of the seam sealer off and weld every other inch, then reseal. It totally stiffens the chassis, then you don't have to cage it. Then paint the body white, just in case you wreck so you can see where the chassis cracks..Then put on your body panels in any color...

I wish my engine bay looked that clean.

It's filthy! I'll wait until he gets everything out then sit in there and wash and wax everything. I have problems. :sneaky: You should be able to white-glove-test that engine bay at ALL TIMES as far as I'm concerned!

Here's some progress pics...

Nice ride and extremely clean! i wish mine was that clean..im jealous :sosad: Quick question since we're on the subject of putting your car on a diet and interior; Does anyone know where to get sheet metal door panel inserts for a 2g? Or will i just have to go to a shop and get them made?

That blue is a great color! I love that color almost as much as the dark grey. But Crimson you could just slap some dynamat in there. It doesn't make that big off a difference like people say it does.
