I put a new shifter in my car and I need to wire me overdrive button to somewhere else, how do I do it? There is a black, red a yellow wire.

couldent you just extend the wires? by the way what kind of shifter did you get?

No, I'm askign how. I don't know what wire is what. Oh and i got a shifter off ebay. Aluminum and carbon fiber.

if i were gonna do it, i would just clip the wires, and splice in extensions... you should be able to figure out the nature of the swich by messing around with it, i dont know what else to tell you

Get a 3 prong switch. black wire= ground/-, red will go to the post that is labelled source (probably the middle prong), and the yellow will go to the power or positive side, which will be the remaining prong. If I am correct, your O/D will work properly, and the On/Off light will work. If I am wrong, someone correct me. If it doesn't work, switch around the red and yellow wires, then it should work. :thumb:

Also, if it doesn't work, check your backup lamp fuse. It controls O/D and could possibly blow the fuse if you wire it wrong. No biggie.
