well to make a long story short i purchased a clutch disc for my car and the center hub broke in like two weeksWTF i called [the vendor] and told them about the broken disc and ask could they replace it for another one and to my surprise they said yes if i pay for the new oneOMG i said what the !@#$%. so i end up purchasing the clutch net disc cause i needed one, for my car was down. they told me to send pics of the broken disc so i did and i have not heard from them since, i am very suprised that slowboy didn't respond to any of my emails they usually, from what i have been told stand behind their products:confused: but here are some pics of the broken clutch disc.

This isn't really the place to complain about a particular shop, you may want to edit the shop name from your post so this doesn't get closed.

I don't know where you got your info about "the shop" in question, but I know for a fact that several people have gripes about that particular one. Myself included.

all i got to say is the clutch is crap and people need to know so they dont make the same mistake i made. maybe if somebody had posted their experience then it would have saved me many hrs under my car!!;)

Damn it, I have this disc waiting to be installed.

Whoa! You should start thinking about returning it! If they ask you why, tell them that you cant trust their product or return warranties.

What if you got into an accident? Do you think that they would be liable for this? I highly doubt it.

Holy shit, how did that happen? After a hard launch, normal driving?

just normal driving:confused: and to make it more confusing my car is a fwd! i did notice after a week or so it was getting more difficult to shift my gears i had no idea the disc itself was going bad. i was in the process of purchasing a new master cylinder because i though it was going bad ,but the clutch broke before i got a chance to replace the master cylinder. the funny thing about buying this clutch is that i did all kinds of research on which cluth disc would be the best disc to use, this one had the most appealing description and seem to be the one that would suit me best. but i was wrong.

Did you have your flywheel resurfaced when you installed the disc?

just to let everbody know slowboy is working to resolve the matter!!! come to find out chris never got my emails, i should have emailed him directly but i emailed tracking instead. he has assured me that they will resolve the issue! thanks chris:thumb:

good lord i would hope so, ive never seen a disc straight up come apart like that.

Scary to see something like that happen. I have a Sprung 6 punk disk waiting to be bolted on once my transmission gets back from Shepherd. I hate to tear up my trans after dropping a few grand in it over some dump stuff.

well i have the verdict. the vendor that sold me this clutch has said that they can't help me! its all on the manufacturer of the clutchWTF hell if i knew who they were i would be dealing with them!!!! the clutch i bought say sbr disc which leads me to believe that sbr manufactured the disc!! nobody wants to take responsibility for the failed cheap @$$ disc. everybody need to take note and learn that's all i have to say:toobad:

you are not going to like the sprung six puck i had one:coy: unless you dont mind your dash and radio vibrating everytime you pull off from a traffic light , stop sign ect!! at first it didn' t bother me but after a while it started to get on my last nerve. its coming out as we speak:thumb:

When you say dash and radio vibrating, how bad are we speaking (in general the dash). I dont have a radio so no worry there. Also you say sprung was it the first or second version one. More I read with other opinions I may just ship this disk back to ExtremePSI and have them to switch it with a street disk.

The vibration he's talking about is the clutch disk chattering. Most puck style disks are a lot more "grabbier" then your normal street disk. This makes them a bit harder to slip, and if your not good at it, then the clutch will act more like a on/off switch but not that harsh. The vibrations he's talking about is the disk grabbing and releasing back and forth quickly many times.

I suggest revving the car up a bit higher, and work on slipping the puck disk a little better. You won't get the chatter then.

I was thinking that the vibration would not be as bad in a AWD car but still noticable. The car will be a DD but mianly for the week ends and track as for now. HOw hard will it be to slip the "Sprung" puck disk in general?

Whats break in for them normally 500 mi. and thats of course stop and go driving correct. If this is correct it will work out best after recieving my trans from shep b/c he requires 500mi of normal driving for any hard launching and things.

Also you are saying that slipping the sprung puck disk is possible but require a little bit of practice?

its not really bad! just seem really bad depending what kind of mood you are in:cool: i ran one with a stock pressure plate and it gripped really well.
