98 GS-T Spyder on mostly stock suspension with stock 16" wheels. My previous tires were BFG G-force KDWS 205/55/16. I jumped up to a 215/55/16 in an attempt to eliminate some wheel spin. Resulted in a little taller tire but nothing negative. I'm no tire expert so I'm just giving my basic review of these. Paid ~$400 for them mounted/balanced tax, blah blah.
Daily Driving... These tires are very comfterable on the road. Much more comfterble than my KDWS' were. Road noise is nill up past 100 mph. Small bumps aren't felt anymore. There's no "floating" feeling on uneven surfaces but a 55 sidewall is still pretty low profile so I wouldn't exect much anyways. Tread rating is very high at 360. Overall a great tire to drive to school/work on.
Wet traction... These are "all season" tires and have awsome traction in the wet. I drove in the rain and traction was great. Even while pushing it a tad(for the conditions) the tires held on great. I didn't find their wet limits because I can't afford sliding into a curb
. I never plan to take this car in snow so no snow/ice review... ever.
Dry traction... Very good dry traction for the price/style. Better than my KDWS in lateral grip and wheel spin. the extra 10mm may have something to do with it but overall, I'm very happy with them. I feel safe at high speeds, even on the stock suspension. I've been up to 140mph and they felt good, didn't over heat, and didn't whine. The side walls give slightly more than my previous tires on hard turns but it's nothing dramatic for a street tire. 1st gear in modded GS-Ts is rediculous for wheel spin but it's noticable better with these tires. The tires start to make noise and slip ever so slightly when they reach their limits on lateral grip. They don't just give out all at once.
My review for these tires is base on the fact that they're an all season, performance oriented tire and replaced the same style tire on my car. I'm not compairing them to "ultra high performance summer tires" or anything like that for the record.
