Anyone have these? Are they good for an everyday driver? Are they terrible in the rain? I basicly need any info that anyone can give me on these tires. I have a 94 fwd turbo talon with the stock wheels. Thanks :talon:

I just got through with a set. I thought they were great tires. Falken admits that they are designed for maximum dry traction, and doesn't say much about the wet grip. I've driven them in the rain several times and never felt like I was going to lose control of the car. I live in Arizona though, so the rain thing didn't come up that often. I think if you just try and take it easy, you will be fine in the rain. I switched to Kumho MXs because they came in the size I wanted, are better in the rain, and work better in the heat than the Azenis. Are you going to do any kind of racing? Auto-X or drag?

Falken Azenis Sports are probably THE BEST BANG 4 BUCK tire for dry traction. When i went to Discount Tires they told me that it is OK in the rain but dont think you can go 75mph in the rain with them. The falken are a double edge sword even though they are the best dry traction they were out rather quickly. I think there rating is 180 and i have never heard anybody getting more than 15,000 miles on them and the MX are 220 i have heard people get 20,000-25,000 miles with them.

I too havent decided by the MX's and Sport's

I back them up definatly, They definatly are worth it. I work at a mag company and they're one of their products, not the cheapest tire around mind you but they sure are grippy. I havent tried the set but by the tread pattern compared to any other falken tire, they arent 50/50 wet dry tires. Buy 'em if you got the $ and not getting rained on every 2 days...

I mainly just wanted them because they grip well. I only see the track once or twice a year but I want something that will grip well on the street. Again, these will be going on a 94 tsi front wheel drive, we do get rain here of course but not very often. At discount tire they were only a few dollars more than the cheapest tire so I think I'll go for them.

I recommend the Falken Ziex tires! I purchased those when I got my wheels and have yet to expierience anything negative with these tires, they handle great. Plus I bought them for $350 on ebay. :thumb:

i just ordered mine from www.vulcantire.com for like $77 for 205/55-16's and they'll be here on wednesday. mine is no longer a daily driver so wet traction or wet weather ability weren't major concerns.

I had a set on the S-10. (The S-10 should not be thought of as a truck) Great tires. Probably some of the better tires I've had in the rain. Atlest for there short life. I did notice at about half life there dry grip dropped off conciderably. Still a good bang for the buck. Never tried them in the snow.
The only reason I haven't kept getting them is the shop that carries them mangled my Budniks installing them, and they don't have a left right pattern. Looks to funny for me...

I got a set of Azenis Sports with my Subzeros - I've been loving them so far. They're really gummy - which is great for dry traction, but they tend to pick up every tiny pebble on the road at slow speeds - usually after having parked it takes 50 feet or so for the tire to run off all the dust its picked up. Has the interesting sound of stuff rolling around the rear wheelwells when I start drving :)

Other than that, I love the tire - and in the wet it does just fine. Even though they're rated as Maximum performance summer tires for dry only, I'd bet they still outhandle the majority of cheapo humdrum crap all seasons in the rain.

I won the last two autocrosses I went to with Azenis Sports. This is on a tired old 1G against EVOs and STi's on their respective stock rubber. Other cars had Kumho MX's and Azenis Sports, but the top 3 cars were running the Falkens. They are the best dry tires for autocross.

I drove home in a rain storm from the last race and there was no sign of hydroplaning.

just got mine mounted today and i noticed the stone pick-up thing as well. in the dry it didn't spin them at all in second and in the rain they still had alot of good grip.

with my new wheels i got Falken Ziex ZE-512 Tires. Theyre alot better than the Azenis as far as multi-purpose goes. these handle incredibly well in the rain, and are considered an all-season tire. the azenis' are considered summer-only, and arent as good in the rain. the ziex are more functional and barely sacrafice grip as compared to the azenis. i was droppin at 5.5k today in the rain (north nj, crazy rain and thunderstorms) on a newly paved road and spun the tires for .02 seconds and took off like a bat out of hell. the azenis will also wear out faster than the ziex, well... according to customers. but if your lookin at the azenis sports... you obviously know theyre basically "street" slicks. so yeh, if you plan on racing and putting your tires through max stress, then i would go with the azenis sports.

any of you awd guys haveing problems with gripping to much and putting some crazy stress on the axles. my friend with his gst just got them and they seem realy grippy.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think that the Zeix 512's may be the better choice for me, plus they look awesome. My car will not see the track that much unless my work schedule changes and I doubt that. I just don't want my fwd to spin bad through 1st & 2nd. I'm not big on street racing but theres nothing wrong with a little stoplight to stoplight action. Guys, I really appreciate all the feedback, thanks for your honest opinions!!!!

just got back from the track with my new falken azenis sports (205/55-16)

4000rpm launch
eibach sportline springs
agx shocks (1 front, 8 rear)
26psi
stock tranny and diff

2.122 60' was my best all night. once i had some heat in them they didn't spin at all. of course my car wasn't really pushign the power last night but i still used to spin all of 2nd on my old rsa's, here i had traction in first.

I love them, but they are the only ones I have tried. Cant wait to see what 60ft time I can get now :thumb:

In the rain they suck! All there is to it, drive like a grandma with your hands at 10 and 2 and you will be fine.

i picked mine up because i needed a multipurpose tire for a cheap price. something i could autocross well with, but would still be decent at the strip. since i have a beater winter or rain traction wasn't much of a concern to me.

I'd recommend you don't drag race with these tires, they don't offer very much straight line traction. They are meant for autocross. I will be switching back to my Goodyear Traction T/A's for the strip, which have given me several 1.6 60 ft. running zero camber and zero toe.

i don't see how they could drop my fwd's 60' times by .2 and not have good straight line traction. i'm not saying there's nothing better, but my buddy was pulling 1.7's on 2 bald tired and 2 other all season tires that cost him about $60 probably for both, stock suspension and rims, and a 14b. with my 4 falken's i think he would've snapped his axles had it been a 3 bolt rear.

I know this is an old thread, but heres my 2 cents.

I've had Azenis on my car for the past 8k miles. They are about due to be replaced. Grip is awesome. I WILL be using these tires again.

The sidewalls on them are VERY stiff for improved cornering. However, this degrades launching ability, as instead of just flexing the sidewall, the entire tire will just spin. For you hardcore drag racers, I'd go with a different tire. For people who enjoy cornering aggressively, I would definitely check them out!

yeah i have these tires on my Turbo CRX and they are great the best tire that i have ever run i do not have any problems with them in the wet but i mean i was not racing the car in the rain either. but the tires do not come into there prime untill it is warm out. like on a cold night they are not that impressive.

I ended up getting the Kumho Mx's guys. Since my clutch is not that good as we speak I really can't report on the tires at this time. I'm trying to baby my clutch until I finish building my shop so that I can drop the tranny in the AC to fix it. However they do look awesome and they are sticky. Not sure if they are as good as the azenis or not but I'm sure they'll do fine for me and probably last a little longer than the faulkins.
